A resident of Montgomery County, writer Kathryn McKay’s ancestors settled in Prince George’s County in the late 1600s and she’s had family in the state ever since. In addition to freelancing for local magazines, she writes for Fodor’s travel guides. Her favorite sanctuary in Maryland is AnnMarie Gardens in Solomons, Maryland.
