James S. Lane is a cultural documentarian and teacher in Somerset County, where he appreciates not only the myriad waterscapes and reverential nature of its inhabitants, but also the county's fierce pride in its traditions. Professionally, Lane has experienced wonderful collaborations with renowned folklorists, community scholars, teachers, and cultural institutions throughout the United States. He delights in the graciousness of those who share their lives with him along the way.
