Jayne Plank was appointed by Governor Ehrlich to the Maryland Heritage Area Authority, serves on the board of trustees of the Maryland Historical Society and is a member of the board of directors of the Maryland Public Policy Institute. She is also the former Mayor of Kensington, member of the Montgomery County Bicentennial Commission, Chairman of Maryland Day for the Maryland Bicentennial Commission, and was appointed by President Reagan to serve at the state department and as a commissioner to the Christopher Columbus Quincentenary Jubilee Commission to celebrate the five hundredth anniversary (1492-1992) since Columbus came to America. The commission met in Baltimore and received the three Spanish ships (replicas of the Nina, Pinta and Santa Maria). Jayne enjoys spending time with her five sons and their families, her friends and traveling.
