Karin De Francis is the co-owner of and attorney for the Maryland Jockey Club. While her family is her life, a close second is being part of the horse racing industry in Maryland, especially the Preakness. In fact, De Francis received the 2007 Tourism Event of the Year Award for the Preakness at the National Academy Foundation's 13th Annual Hospitality and Tourism Awards.
