Meg Romero—winner of the 2004 Niche Award for furniture design—is owner of Meg Romero Studio. Seeing an ad in a trade magazine for the Main Street Maryland program and its incentives to artists to live and work "downtown," Romero moved from Philadelphia five years ago and purchased an old distillery in Cumberland. Today she enjoys the outstanding architecture of downtown while offering her designs locally and internationally.
