What are middle schoolers reading these days? I have the answer! I interviewed three students at Northern Middle School to find out what they had to say.

Priscilla Means is reading Red Kayak by Priscilla Cummings for the second time. She loved the plot line, a boy who gets accused of carelessly drilling holes in a kayak, actually leading to death.

Tommy Sewell is reading a mystery involving time travel, When You Reach Me by Rebecca Stead. “It really keeps you on edge,” he explains, “I really liked the descriptions of the characters.”

Maya Fields is also reading Stead’s book. “I loved it!  I can relate to the main character so well. Fields loves the way the author keeps the reader wanting more.

Isn’t it great to know students still read these days? Next time you’re on the couch, turn off the television. It’s time to read!
