    The Charles Viers mention I am sure is the family Of Daniel Veirs (spelling changed) thhat fought with Thomas Wooton in the Rev. War.

  • Thomas Sprigg Wootton

    I am reasonably sure that the spelling of Wootton is an off shoot of many of the spellings of Wooten, Wootten, Wootton, etc. I have given a DNA sample to a company in Texas, and they have traced my family back to the Carolinas to two brothers, that spelled their name Wooton - and we have recently began searching in Europe for the connection. In the US there are litterly thousands of families with a deritive of this name!
