Recently, I discovered a new vineyard that just opened in Baltimore County called Dejon. They have a beautiful, welcoming vineyard and five delicious wines - my favorite is Sweet Denise. As we sat there sipping wine with barn swallows and hummingbirds swooping in and out of the porch around us, I got to thinking about some of the other hidden secrets here in Baltimore County.

Did you know you can enjoy a jazz concerts at the Benjamin Banneker Historic Park and Museum, or pick your own berries at one of the local farms?

You’ve probably heard about the Maryland State Fair, but do you know that they have three evening concerts this year featuring Gretchen Wilson, Bret Michaels, and Justin Bieber?!

Have you visited Hampton National Historic Site in Towson? I’ve driven past it for years but never knew its rich history until recently. Not only do they give free tours of the mansion and surrounding grounds but, they also host scheduled events such as jousting demonstrations and carriage rides.

There are so many hidden treasures right here in Baltimore County.
