This reminds me of stories of a 100-mile bike race through the Finger Lakes region--I thought it was called the Wine Glass Century, but if Google can't find it, it doesn't exist. Anyway, up at the front, you'd have the people there to race. Bringing up the rear, you'd have the people there for the wine. A group of my coworkers went, and tried to stay in a group even though some were fitter than others (and some took water at the rest stops, and others took wine). Not pretty.

This, on the other hand, sounds not only do-able, but gorgeous. What a fun idea! There are so many lovely, well-supported runs in Maryland. I'm injured enough that I'm down to walking (http://www.the3day.org/goto/clanderson), but I have fond memories of races all over the state--from the Great Allegany 15K in Cumberland, to a beautiful prediction race in St. Mary's. And just this weekend I was walking at the Academy, reminiscing about when the Annapolis Ten-Miler used to go along the sea wall. That's another gorgeous race, with fantastic support, from organizers to volunteers to the community itself.

    Oh, I miss running!
