Delmarva Aquarium

Courtesy of the Delmarva Discovery Center

I took my daughter to the newly opened Delmarva Discovery Center in Pocomoke City. What a great place!

The aquarium had just opened and the kids that were there were absolutely mesmerized. The exhibit featured a tank with a diver feeding the fish, of which the sturgeon and the alligator gar (what an odd looking fish) were the stars.

Boys seemed to be really taken with all the gadgetry of the steamship; my daughter was just interested in the live critters and being able to touch them- yes, they have touch tanks, too.

It was just a great way to spend a day. We didn’t take advantage of the package deal with the river cruise boat because we didn’t have time but I think kids would love it.

Critters who've traveled in our rolling aquarium, the Fishmobile, for the summer will be released back to the Bay. Check us out on Facebook or at www.pwec.org.
