With its quirky, whimsical feel, Mr. Rain’s Fun House fits right in at the American Visionary Art Museum. Located on AVAM’s top floor, the restaurant’s intriguing décor ranges from vintage to psychedelic. It’s a visual feast for kids, too, thanks to its orange and purple walls, miniature wooden carousel, and dangling drape of shiny mirrors over the bar. (Not that you should park the kidlets at the bar…)

Like the funky museum downstairs, Mr. Rain’s caters to a variety of tastes. Guests can indulge in everything from sweet and salty mini pretzels and “elixir” cocktails to creative vegetarian dishes, all served by a hipster staff.

Summertime means an open patio, an ideal Charm City spot for savoring traditional Maryland seafood—and for discussing your favorite AVAM masterpieces, of course!

    Mr. Rain’s Fun House is open for lunch Tue.-Fri. 11:30 a.m.-3:30 p.m.; for dinner Tue.-Thu. 5:30-9 p.m.; for dinner Fri.-Sat. 5:30-10 p.m.; for brunch Sat.-Sun. 11 a.m.-4 p.m.; and for dinner Sun. 5:30-9 p.m. For more information, visit www.mrrainsfunhouse.com.
