A special evening reception and gallery talk with gallerist George Billis and artists in the exhibition will take place Saturday, September 8, 4:30 – 6:30 p.m. Wine and cheese will be provided by members of the museum’s volunteer organization, the Singer Society, and artists will discuss their works in the exhibition. Tickets for this event are $15.00 for museum members and $20.00 for non-museum members and can be purchased by calling 301-739-5727.
Works of art in the exhibition represent how 21st century artists use the traditional still life theme to explore the pieces and nuances that make up everyday life. From coffee cups and books to bowls of fruit and flowers the subjects captured by these artists take on new lives through the artists’ choice of composition, color, and style.
