    On Saturday, February 4, 2012, at 2:00 p.m. the St. Michaels branch of the Talbot County Free Library will present a discussion entitled, ‘Marsh, Maroons and Mariners: Identity and Community on Delmarva.’ The speaker will be Mr. James Lane.

    Mr. Lane, who lives on Maryland’s Eastern Shore, is a community scholar and trained ethnographer who has worked with professional folklorists, oral historians, writers and local communities throughout the Mid Atlantic. Mr. Lane is keenly interested in traditional maritime culture, community identity and sustainability.

    Over the years, Mr. Lane has collaborated on projects with Maryland Traditions, the Ward Museum, the Library of Congress, the Smithsonian, the Delmarva Discovery Center and the Crisfield Heritage Foundation. For more information, call the library at 410-745-5877, or visit www.tcfl.org.
