Deborah Carter

A lifelong resident of Kent Count, Deb has worked in the hospitality/tourism industry for over 30 years. She was recently named Tourism Person of the Year at the Governor's Tourism Industry Conference, a conference that she has chaired for the past three years. As corporate manager of Buttonwood Beach, a 537-site R.V. resort located on the Elk River at the head of the Chesapeake Bay, she volunteers for numerous state and national boards. She currently chairs the Maryland Tourism Council, is Executive Director of the Maryland Association of Campgrounds, and is Vice-Chair of the Choptank Electric Trust Board.
