Marlene Young

Marlene Young is vice president of Great Southern Enterprises Inc., a management-services firm in Frederick. Her career in corporate administration spans more than 25 years. She is a trustee and administrator of the Delaplaine Foundation, chair of Maryland Life's Maryland Board, and a member of the board of managers of Great State Publishing LLC, publisher of Maryland Life. Young is a five-time recipient of the Maryland Department of Labor, Licensing and Regulation's Outstanding Media Award and recipient of the Founders Club Award from the Maryland-Delaware-DC Telecommunications Association. She is also a vocal recording artist, having released five albums to date. She and her husband Mike find great joy in spending time with their family, in community service and traveling.
